Branch manager dashboard

The branch manager dashboard in Thermal rolls up technician productivity, utilization, and backlog for a single branch — the numbers a branch manager needs to run their location without pulling a company-wide report and filtering it down by hand.

How it's used.

What a branch manager sees

A branch manager is responsible for one location's output, not the whole company's. This dashboard scopes every number — technician utilization, work order backlog, callback rate, PM compliance — to the manager's own branch by default, with the option to compare against company averages or other branches.

It's the same underlying data as the operations manager dashboard, filtered to one branch and framed around the questions a branch manager asks day to day: is my crew fully utilized this week, is my backlog growing, and how does my branch compare to the rest of the company.

Technician productivity and utilization at branch level

Technician utilization measures billable hours against available hours per technician — the core productivity number a branch manager's staffing decisions ride on. The dashboard shows it per technician and rolled up for the branch, so a manager can see both the team number and which individuals are pulling it up or down.

Technician scorecards extend this into a full productivity view per technician — utilization, first-time fix, callback rate, and revenue generated — for one-on-ones and performance conversations, without a branch manager having to build that comparison by hand.

Comparing branches without losing local detail

Multi-branch companies need branch managers to see how their location stacks up without drowning them in every other branch's detail. The dashboard shows a branch's own numbers front and center, with company benchmarks available as a comparison layer rather than the default view.

Backlog and scheduling at the branch level

Work order backlog is scoped to the branch here too — open, unscheduled, and past-due jobs specific to the manager's own technicians and service area, which is what actually drives a branch manager's next staffing or overtime decision, not a company-wide backlog number that includes branches they don't run.

Questions about this dashboard.

Can I compare my branch against company-wide averages?

Yes. The dashboard defaults to your own branch's numbers, with an option to add company or other-branch benchmarks alongside them.

Is this the same data as the operations manager dashboard?

Yes, same underlying records, scoped to a single branch by default instead of rolled up across all branches.

How is technician utilization different from productivity?

Utilization measures billable hours against available hours. Productivity, as shown on technician scorecards, adds first-time fix rate, callback rate, and revenue per technician for a fuller picture.

Does the dashboard include multiple branches if I manage more than one?

Yes. If your role covers multiple branches, you can switch between them or view them side by side.
