An invoicein Thermal drafts itself from a completed work order — the labor, parts, and price-book line items are already there, because they're the same records the technician worked from. Nothing gets copied by hand from a job ticket into a separate billing system.
Invoicing sits at the end of the same spine every other page reads from — the work order becomes the invoice, and the invoice is what a customer sees in their own portal, on the way to a shorter days sales outstanding.
Invoicing is stage six — the last record a job produces. It reads the completed work order, applies the agreement's coverage rules, and closes the loop on the customer.

What's live today, what's early access, and what's still on the roadmap — no invoicing capability here is presented as more finished than it is.
A completed work order drafts its own invoice — labor, parts, and price-book line items carry over directly, so nothing gets re-keyed from a job ticket into a separate billing screen. What the technician recorded on the job is what the customer is billed, with no transcription in between — which is what keeps time to invoice short instead of stacking up in someone's inbox.
A technician can record a cash, check, or card payment right from the job and close the invoice out on the spot — the same payment math the office uses, applied idempotently so a retry can't double-collect. The office records a manual payment the same way, cash, check, or card-keyed.
Line items can be adjusted before an invoice goes out, and a prebill approval gate holds it until the right person signs off — invoicing doesn't have to be all-or-nothing between the work order and the customer. A disputed line can be fixed before it becomes a customer call.
OAuth connection and the sync status view are live today; two-way sync between Thermal and QuickBooks is in early access — reliable enough to run, still hardening before it's the default recommendation. See the integrations page for what moves today.
QuickBooks Online sync is in early access; the Sage Intacct and Business Central adapters are on the roadmap. Today, export from Thermal and post it in either system by hand — neither adapter is live.
A hosted payment link exists in the product, but card processing isn't activated in production yet — today, payment is collected by the office or in the field, not by a customer paying online. The link will be the path when processing is live; until then the page says exactly that.
Retainage-style billing and jurisdictional sales-and-use tax handling for multi-state commercial work are on the roadmap. Today, invoicing covers standard flat-rate and price-book billing — right for service work, not yet a construction-accounting draw schedule.
Three boundaries that keep the money honest.
Thermal builds the invoice and hands it to your accounting system — it doesn't take over the GL, payroll or retainage. QuickBooks Online sync is in early access; the Sage Intacct and Business Central adapters are on the roadmap. Check the integrations page before you plan around it — because your ledger is your ledger, and that's how it stays.
Online card processing isn't activated in production yet. Payment is collected by the office or by a technician in the field — online card payment is on the roadmap, and this page won't pretend otherwise.
