How does inventory track truck stock separately from the warehouse?
Every item's quantity is tracked per location, a warehouse or a van assigned to one technician, not as one org-wide count. On hand, committed and available are shown for each location.
Can I track individual serial numbers on parts like compressors?
Yes. Mark an item serialized (a choice that cannot be undone) and Thermal tracks each unit's serial number, bin and status under the item's total quantity. Lot or batch tracking for non-serialized consumables is not a capability yet.
How do I know if purchasing, receiving and accounting are in sync?
The materials reconciliation report checks seven totals, including purchasing against receipts, receipts against vendor bills, truck-stock drift and the accounting handoff. Each carries a source ID so a discrepancy traces back to its record.
Can I import my existing price book?
Yes. Thermal imports price-book items from a CSV you export from your current provider, mapping code, name, price and category. A direct live sync from a provider is on the roadmap.
Does Thermal support FIFO or LIFO costing?
Yes. Costing on receipt can be manual entry, latest cost, weighted average, FIFO, LIFO or standard cost. FIFO and LIFO are chosen under Settings, Billing, and switching to them is one-way. Standard cost keeps the item at its standard and records the purchase price variance on each receipt line. See job costing for how cost reaches the job.
